2017 Macomb Area Crime Stoppers Lasagna Dinner and Auction

The Macomb Area Crime Stoppers held their fifth annual Lasagna Dinner at the Forum in Macomb. This year’s activities included a performance by the WIU Presidential string quartet, K9 and Taser demonstrations, and a live auction. Over $16,000 was raised at the event, which will assist the program for another year.

Plaques of appreciation were presented to Doris Carman and Carrie VanVleet in memory of their husbands’ legacies. Former McDonough Sheriff Stan Carman helped the local crime stoppers program to become established in 1989 and was a supporter throughout his career. Dr. VanVleet was a supporter of the program and assisted with the annual auction since its inception in 2010. Both Carman and VanVleet passed away in 2016.
