The McDonough County FOP Lodge #280 recently donated to VIBE. This years funding will assist area fire departments, and first responders, including the Sheriff's Office by providing squad cars with Stat X cans. Pictured is Deputy Phelps, Kassie Courson, and Detective John Swearingen.

 

Recent Event - April 2013

Macomb Area Crime Stoppers held is first Lasanga Dinner Fundraiser at Magnolia's in Macomb. The dinner featured a silent auction and a 50/50 drawing. Over $7,500 was raised which will help the program with increasing costs.

Recent Event - September 2012

The McDonough Sheriff's Office initiated an inmate work program in August of 2012. Inmates are selected after they have been sentenced to the jail and have agreed to the terms and conditions of the program. The inmates then provide labor to any entity that is supported by tax dollars. They are supervised by a deputy or auxiliary deputy while they work.

The McDonough County Sheriff's Office Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #280 participated in its annual "Buddy Program" at JCPenny's in Macomb this year. Over 60 area school children were provided with much needed school supplies and clothing. The Sheriff's Office was assisted in the event by McDonough County Auxiliary Deputies, the Colchester Police Department, Blandinsville Police Department and the Macomb Police and Fire Departments.

Go West receives recognition for their continued partnership with Macomb Area Crime Stoppers. Go West proudly advertises for Crime Stoppers on several of their buses.

Macomb Area Crime Stoppers recently awarded Amelia Finch with the annual John Bliven Scholarship award. Amelia is a graduate of West Prairie High School and has been attending Western IL University. Recent Event - March 2012

Deputies from the McDonough County Sheriff's Office along with officers from the Macomb Police Department and Western IL University Office of Public Safety participated in the 2012 Polar Plunge in Galesburg. The annual event raises money for the Special Olympics.

Deputy Percy and Deputy Cremer present Aleecia LaCourse with a $1,000.00 scholarship check. LaCourse is graduate of Bushnell - Prairie City high school and is currently attending Western IL University.

Deputy Percy and Petitgout present a $500.00 scholarship check to Lauren Settles. Settles is graduate of the Bushnell - Prairie City High School and will be attending Southern Illinois University.

Deputy Petitgout presents Daniel Woolam with a $1000.00 scholarship check from the McDonough County FOP. Woolam graduated from the West Prairie High School and will be attending Western IL University.

Recent Event - August 2011

The McDonough County Sheriff's Office F.O.P. Lodge #280 held its annual Buddy Program at WalMart.  Deputies of the Sheriff's Office Lodge along with the McDonough County Sheriff's Auxilary, Macomb Police Department, Colchester Police Department and Blandinsville Police Department assisted over 80 area children in purchasing needed school supplies and clothing.

Deputy Petitgout presents a $1,000.00 scholarship check to recipient, Kelsey Carle.  Carle is a Macomb native, graduating from Macomb High School and is enrolled with Monmouth College for the fall semester.  Pictured is Deputy Percy, Carle, and Deputy Petitgout.

Sheriff Rick VanBrooker, Deputy  Adam Cremer, Macomb Area Crime Stoppers board president Stan Cunningham, and Deputy Petitgout participate in this years annual Crime Stoppers golf tournament in Decatur, IL.

Deputies from Lodge #280 donated over $600.00 in toys to the Blandinsville First State Bank gift tree. The toys wiil be delivered to families by the Blandinsville Police Department this Christmas. Recent Event - May 2010

McDonough County Deputies from F.O.P. Lodge #280 donated $1,000 to the McDonough County 4-H shooting sports program. The donated money will allow for the purchase of equipment needed to start the program.

West Prairie 5th grade DARE graduation with Deputy Jim Percy. The graduation was on Dec. 15, 2009 at Colchester Grade School.





Recent Event - November 2009

Deputy John Carson presents Aleecia LaCourse with a $1,000.00 scholarship check. LaCourse was picked from several applicants that applied to the scholarship. LaCourse resides in Bushnell and is currently attending Western IL University. The McDonough County Fraternal Order of Police (F.O.P.) awards several scholarships annually to local residents who apply.

Deputy John Carson presents Brian Carman with a $500.00 scholarship check. Carman was picked from several applicants that applied to the scholarship. Carman is originally from the Industry area and is currently enrolled at Southern IL University. The McDonough County Fraternal Order of Police (F.O.P.) awards several scholarships annually to local residents who apply.

Recent Event - 08/08/09

Deputies in the F.O.P. Lodge #280 held a chicken and fish fry at the Macomb Eagles Club. The fundraiser was used to help fund the upcoming "Buddy Program" and local school scholarships.

Recent Event - 05/18/09

Deputy Pilat introduces residents at Eisenhower Tower to his K-9, Kilo. Residents were able to watch Kilo locate narcotics during a demonstration.

Sheriff VanBrooker and deputies talked to answered questions about the variousaspects of the Sheriff's Office. Topics covered were investigations, Crime Stoppers, K-9 program, and daily duties of the McDonough County Sheriff's Office.

Recent Event - 04/27/09

Deputy Tom Pledge poses with students at Lincoln School in Macomb for Safety Day. McDonough County Sheriff's Office along with the Macomb Police, Macomb Fire Dept and McDonough District Hospital spoke with first graders from the Macomb School District. The students were given hand-outs and were given tours of the police cars, fire trucks and ambulance.

Recent Event - 04/24/09

Deputy Tom Pledge participates in the Mock DUI project on Western Illinois Campus. The event is designed to give WIU and high school students a real view into a DUI crash. Officers from the WIU office of public safety, Illinois State Police, Macomb Police Department, McDonough County Sheriff's Office, as well as emergency personel from the Western Emergency Medical Services, Macomb Fire Department, and McDonough District Hospital participated in the annual event.
